Best part of summer yet!!!

Filed under: iPhone — Hannah @ 11:21 am

NYBoy is in Brunei to visit me! He’s staying incredibly close to the house so I get to see him alll the time, and he rented a car so he can pick me up from work for lunch and after work. I am no longer alone most of the time, which is what I hate most about not being at uni… NYBoy loovveess the company because we’re both as dorky as each other so spending almost all my time with him is perfect.

Just like how we are at uni; NYBoy walks me to classes, meets up with me for lunch, walks me to afternoon classes, and meets me at night for a DVD or to go out to see other friends. It’s like finding another me…. in the form of a white boy.

He brought me out to the mall today to fix my hair which was in a terrible state because of all my DIY-dyeing, and the hair colorists tried to recolor it a lighter shade but because the black is such a strong color, the brown only actually shows up at the roots and at the ends. Odd. I got a conditioning treatment done to it too and THAT made a lot of difference.

Got home, got showered and very very very done up because tonight we’re going for sushi dinner and drinks in town.

New hair, made up face.

I feel so so glam. I love having him here.

Raisin kidds adoption y/n?

Filed under: iPhone — Hannah @ 1:00 am

I am soooo torn.

It’s tradition for third years to adopt freshmen at my university, for the sake of raisin weekend and embarassing them beyond belief… but I’m not sure whether I want to fund a massive party on top of me and M’s planned joint birthday CRAAZZZY PARTYYY.

I don’t even know why I have to think about it so much in advance, I really miss St Andrews :(

I was talking about it to NYBoy last night and it’s just so weird how when we’re in St A, we can’t wait to get out and go home where it’s warmer and you don’t have to go to lectures every day and you’ve got your friends from waaay back in the day. In reality; I’ve been home about two weeks, most of my friends aren’t even in the country anymore, I work 8am to 5pm and it might be warmer but the humidity is RIDICULOUS… and I miss my friends from the bubble.

St. Andrew’s (as suffocatingly small as it is), feels more like home than anywhere else, isn’t that sad?!

NYBoy comes to see me on Saturday, I am sooo psyched. We’re going to cruise round in a rented car (prob not so pimpin) and act like we own the town! And we’re going to eat lots of ice cream and watch lots of movies and it’s going to be the best 12 day trip the world has ever known. I’ll take some pictures, I promise.

For my bestfriend.

Filed under: iPhone — Hannah @ 7:48 am

I was researching my latest assignment on a Brunei news page today when I saw an ad for enrolment at my old highschool! So I clicked on it, to see how much its changed (or hasn’t) and now I feel soooo timesick (similar to homesick but when you want to go back to a particular time in life). I miss school, being at school made Brunei feel a LOT less dull.

I’d wake up every morning and have breakfast at the computer table so I could simultaneously check my dailies (most of which are no longer around..) and spoon cereal into my mouth. Then I’d get in the car and the entire ride to school I’d wonder whether Matthew was going to have gone in without me, whether he’d wait up front where I always got dropped off just to say hi or whether he’d have slept in and I’d see him after the bell had rung, running past with fresh-out-of-the-shower damp hair.

Most of the time it was the third option.

I’d literally count down the hours and minutes until our common classes – psychology and study period, because my day never felt complete until I had seen him.

We were so sooo young back then, we really believed that this was it, that we had both found what we were looking for and we would be able to stay together forever.

We didn’t take into account things like long distance, his mom not accepting us and how time changes things.

If I could go back in time and visit us as a highschool couple, I would tell Matthew that where he goes to university is important, and not to only think about himself.

I would tell myself that although parents want whats best for you, they sometimes get it wrong and not to agree to go to Singapore just to appease them.

And I would assure Matthew that every single time I told him I’d love him forever, I was telling the truth, and time changes things, but will never change that.

Creeped outtt

I got an email from Astrology.com today, which was probably just spam but it was so true to my current situation;

Dear Hannah,

Are you still obsessing about a past relationship that absorbs all of your attention and has you wondering if he will come back? It’s time to let go of the past so you can become emotionally available to finding your true soulmate. Get the guidance you need from a love psychic who can support you on your journey.

SCARY.

France, London & KL 2008

Filed under: iPhone — Hannah @ 4:24 pm

This is what my hair looked like just before the exams started. I finally got a new phone! It’s exactly like my old phone but it’s the cheapest decent camera phone I could find. I get to upgrade when I renew my contract in September anyway so its not a permanent phone, I just missed taking photos of things! On the shelf beside my sink is my Neutrogena face wash which I swear by, my toothpaste which comes out like shaving gel (coolest toothpaste packaging ever) and my antiseptic spray for when my nose piercing acts up.

Old hair.

My exams finished, and we went to France as planned!!! We arrived and it was raining, and the bus we needed to get to take us into town was late by an hour. I didnt take that many photos because my phone didn’t work in France so I didn’t have to carry it around with me as much as I usually do. This is me waiting at the bus station trying to protect my hair from the drops of water coming in sideways, water + curly hair = major frizz.

France 2008

Beach didn’t look so inviting the first day, stupid rain, so we skipped it and sat in cafe’s drinking coffee all day.

France 2008

While in France we went to SEPHORA!!! I’ve never ever been to a Sephora store before, and booyyy have I been missing out. I spent like an hour in there running up and down the aisles and not understanding any of the sales people because everyone spoke French and I only know “Bonjour” and “Au revoir”. One of them came up to me and gestured to my face and pointed at a makeover chair, so I got into it and got a complete Benefit makeup makeover. It looked sooo much better than my usual makeup.

France 2008

Post-makeover. Face feeling significantly heavier with about 5 tonnes of makeup piled onto it.

France 2008

Vintage French candy store. SEE CHOCOLATES!

France 2008

Y U SO SQUINTY BB????

France 2008

Fish stall at the market, made me think of the crazy chef song from Little Mermaid right before he chases after Sebastian.

France 2008

A view of the marketplace from a few steps up. So much food. We got homemade pastries and ogled the different jams and spices.

France 2008

Nice was very nice. haha. It was sooo pretty, the weather was great and I got to wear my little juicy swimsuit out on the beach and try to get tanned. The water was ridiculous though! It looked so blue from where I was sitting on the beach, and the sun made the waves sparkle and it looked so inviting. Then I decide to actually try swimming in the water and it was freezing!! Not just freezing, the waves were ridiculously strong and they kept throwing me against the bottom, which instead of being covered with sand was covered in lots of pebbles so my bum bum got bruised.

France 2008

France 2008

We decided to venture out of Nice for a day to go to Biot to see the sea animals at Marine Land! I LOVE animals more than anything so this was very very veeerrry exciting for me. I got to eat popsicles while we walked, even more exciting.

France 2008

France 2008

Lazy lazy sharks.

France 2008

Me in my fishermanesque outfit which they made us put on before we could get into the water to touch dolphins. I got to touch a baby dolphin called Kali and we did hand gestures and she did little tricks. She was so so sweet.

France 2008

France 2008

France 2008

This seal kept barking at us. So we took pictures of it, I think it liked the attention. It was the biggest seal in the entire pool.

France 2008

After France we stayed flew back to London and stayed there a few days, where I got to go to the London Zoo!!!!

London 2008

I have always always been obsessed with sheep and lamb. I refuse to eat them and I have lots and lots of sheep/lamb plushies, but I’d never touched one in real life until my visit to the zoo. There was lots of sheep poopy on the ground, and I was scared it would eat my LV.

London 2008

WHAT A CUTIE PIE.

London 2008

Llama love <3

London 2008

Then we got bored and decided my orange hair is soooo last season and dyed it jet black.

London 2008

Then felt that the haircut too was out of date and changed that at Toni & Guy at Covent Garden. I got the style director, a really nice Afghani guy called Richard. He went totally nuts on my hair and it looks so different.

London 2008

Left London on the 9th and flew back to Kuala Lumpur! Where I got a little bit of spending money to buy clothes to wear at the office during my summer internship. First shopping stop was the pavillion which I lovvveee. There was a huge Forever 21 in the corner and I swear in about 5 minutes I had grabbed 5 different tops. Way out of my budget but I managed to walk away with a skirt, 2 office-ish tops and a little summer dress.

KL 2008

KL 2008

I wanted these two tops too but if I had bought them Id have on money to spend tomorrow and the day after :(
